Assistant professor Position in Ocean Engineering

The Department of Marine Environment and Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan invites applications for a full-time Assistant professor or higher. Applicants with expertise in Ocean engineering, Fluid and structure interaction, Offshore (coastal) structures and Structural motion reduction control are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be required to develop externally funded research programs and offer excellent teaching in the introductory, upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses at least including two of the following subjects: Structure Theory, Mechanics of Materials, Ocean Civil Engineering, Computational mechanics, and the applicant’s areas of expertise. Service to the department and university is also expected.

Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in civil engineering or a related field. Post-doctoral experience is highly desirable. Publication of at least five papers in the SCI journals of related research field is required. A single file for the electronic application should include a cover letter, CV, statements of teaching and research interests, a copy of diploma of doctoral degree and transcripts of master’s and doctoral degrees, a publication list and one representative paper within the past five years, and three recommendation letters.              Assistant professor Position in Marine Environment and Modeling

The Department of Marine Environment and Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan invites applications for a full-time Assistant professor or higher. Applicants with expertise in Estuarine and coastal Environment, Marine Hydrodynamic, Ecological Engineering and Environmental Modeling are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be required to develop externally funded research programs and offer excellent teaching in the introductory, upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses at least including two of the following subjects: Water Supply and Drainage System(compulsory) and optional courses, eg. Marine System Modeling, Coastal Ocean Prediction, Marine Pollution Modeling Theory and Practice, Ecological model, and the courses related to applicant’s areas of expertise. Academic services to the department and university are also expected.
