The Department of Marine Environment and Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan invites applications for a full-time assistant professor or higher level position. The position begins February 1, 2017. Applicants with expertise in geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, construction and foundations, geohazards, offshore wind farm are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be required to develop externally funded research programs and offer excellent teaching in the introductory, upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses, including at least two of the following subjects: geotechnical engineering, foundation engineering, offshore structural engineering, reinforce concrete, and the applicant’s areas of expertise. Service to the department and university is also expected.
Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in civil engineering or a related field. Post-doctoral experience is highly desirable. Publication of at least two papers in the SCI journals of related research field is required. A single file for the electronic application should include a cover letter, CV, statements of teaching and research interests, a copy of diploma of doctoral degree and transcripts of master’s and doctoral degrees, a publication list and a representative paper within the past five years, and contact information of two references. The position begins February 1, 2017. Applicants with expertise in Restoration technology for Coastal Ecosystems Restoration or Coastal Disaster Adaptation are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be required to develop externally funded research programs and offer excellent teaching in the introductory, upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses, including at least two of the following subjects
1) Ecological Engineering and Practices, Restoration Technology for Habitats and Ecosystems, Ecological Modeling;
2) Coastal Hazard and Risk Assessments, Coastal Disaster Adaptation, Planning for Coastal Zone Disaster etc. Service to the department and university is also expected.
